Workshop 4: AHINITZE ERRASTI. NONDIK
Partner-founder and director of the educational projects of Nondik studio of Architecture and educational research, who combines work with university teaching and her doctoral thesis on school spaces.
In 2011 she finished her architecture studies in the city of Barcelona at the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. Her final degree project was awarded in 2013 at the XI BEAU (Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennial XI).
She has worked in Rotterdam (Holland) and Tübingen (Germany) and has participated in several international competitions. She has also collaborated in Svesmi in the rehabilitation projects of the library system of Moscow, Russia. Her interest in the world of education in architecture led her to complete the ‘Máster de Formación del Profesorado de Secundaria, Bachillerato y Formación Profesional’ (Master to teach at Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training.)
Currently, she develops her PhD on the relationship between space and pedagogy in the education program: School, Language, and Society of the University of the Basque Country. At the same time, she combines the Nondik management with teaching at the University of Deusto. Regarding Nondik, it is an initiative that works without any preconceived idea of the final result, being the process an essential part of each project and deciphering what the really important questions are. These interests are carried out from a variable interdisciplinary structure for each project where the end user has a relevant role.
Classrooms, corridors, desks in front of a blackboard ... Are there favorable environments for participation in schools? Dreaming and inventing new scenarios to promote creativity and communication of childhood will be the starting point of the seminar. From these imagined places, we will be able to look again at education and reflect on the methodologies of child participation that allow us to integrate into the school through the educational curriculum.
